Peanut Chocolate French Toast Roll-Ups Recipe

  • Author: Julian
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings (about 16 roll-ups) 1x

Description

Delicious and easy-to-make French Toast Roll-Ups filled with creamy peanut chocolate spread, rolled in cinnamon sugar for a sweet and satisfying breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Batter

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Whole Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp Salt

Roll-Ups

  • 1 Loaf of Soft, Sliced Bread (About 16 Slices)
  • 1 Jar of Bonne Maman Peanut Chocolate Spread
  • ⅓ Cup Butter for Cooking French Toast
  • Cinnamon Sugar for Rolling Cooked French Toast (about ¼ cup)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt until smooth and well combined.
  2. Prepare the bread: Lay the sliced bread on a flat surface. Using a rolling pin, roll each slice very thin and flat. Use a knife to trim off the crusts to create uniform rectangles.
  3. Spread the filling and roll: Generously layer Bonne Maman Peanut Chocolate Spread over each flattened bread slice. Gently roll the bread into a spiral shape, ensuring the filling stays inside the roll.
  4. Heat the pan and melt butter: Preheat a skillet or frying pan over medium-low heat and melt about 2 tablespoons of butter, ensuring it coats the pan evenly.
  5. Dip and cook the rolls: Quickly dip each roll into the egg batter, rotating to soak all sides evenly. Place the rolls in the heated pan and cook, turning regularly, until golden brown on all sides and cooked through.
  6. Cinnamon sugar coating: After cooking each roll, immediately roll it in cinnamon sugar so it sticks to the warm surface. Repeat with all rolls.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Serve the French Toast Roll-Ups warm as a delicious breakfast or snack treat.

Notes

  • Use soft, fresh sliced bread for easier rolling and better texture.
  • Ensure the pan is at medium-low heat to cook the rolls evenly without burning.
  • You can substitute the peanut chocolate spread with other nut butters or chocolate spreads as preferred.
  • Serve with fresh fruit or syrup for added flavor.
  • Store leftover roll-ups in an airtight container and reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.
