Mini Brie Bites with Fig Jam and Crispy Prosciutto Recipe

  • Author: Julian
  • Total Time: 26 minutes
  • Yield: 30 bites 1x

Description

These Mini Brie Bites are an elegant appetizer featuring crispy prosciutto, melty triple creme brie, and sweet fig jam nestled inside delicate phyllo shells. Perfect for parties and gatherings, they offer a delicious blend of savory, creamy, and sweet flavors with a hint of fresh thyme.

Ingredients

Scale

Prosciutto and Herb

  • 3 oz. prosciutto
  • 1 tbsp. fresh thyme

Base

  • 2 packages (1.9 oz. each) Athens Phyllo Shells

Filling

  • 8 oz. triple creme brie cheese wheel (chilled in freezer 1520 minutes)
  • 8.5 oz. jar fig jam

Instructions

  1. Prepare prosciutto: Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the prosciutto in small nests. Bake for 10-12 minutes until crispy. Remove from the oven, let cool, then chop into pieces. Toss with fresh thyme and set aside.
  2. Reduce oven temperature: Lower the oven temperature to 325°F in preparation for baking the brie bites.
  3. Slice brie cheese: Slice the chilled brie wheel into cubes. Freezing it briefly makes cutting easier and neater.
  4. Prepare phyllo shells: Line another baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Athens Phyllo Shells evenly on it.
  5. Add fig jam: Spoon about 1 teaspoon of fig jam into each phyllo shell, creating a sweet base for the cheese.
  6. Add brie cheese: Place one cube of brie cheese on top of the fig jam in each shell.
  7. Bake the brie bites: Bake for 6-8 minutes at 325°F until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and immediately top each bite with the crispy prosciutto and thyme mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Freezing the brie briefly before slicing makes it easier to cut into neat cubes.
  • Use Athens Phyllo Shells for convenience; if unavailable, mini phyllo tart shells can be used as a substitute.
  • Serve these warm for the best melty texture and flavor contrast.
  • To make ahead, prepare and bake the prosciutto and chop thyme; assemble bites just before baking.
