Ingredients

Scale

Danish Base

  • 1 package King’s Hawaiian rolls
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Glaze

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Topping (Optional)

  • Fruit or jam of choice

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your ingredients.
  2. Create Cream Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and egg. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Slice Rolls: Carefully slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally to create a base and top layer.
  4. Assemble Danish: Place the bottom halves of the rolls in a baking dish evenly. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom halves.
  5. Top Layer: Place the top halves of the rolls over the cream cheese layer, covering it completely.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly puffed up.
  7. Prepare Glaze: While the Danish is baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to create a smooth glaze.
  8. Glaze & Add Toppings: Once baked, remove the Danish from the oven and drizzle the glaze evenly over the top. Add fruit or jam if desired for enhanced flavor and presentation.
  9. Serve: Allow the Danish to cool slightly to set the glaze before slicing and serving.
