Description
Iowa Party Bites are savory, cheesy mini crescent roll cups filled with a flavorful mixture of cream cheese, cheddar, bacon, and green onions. Perfect as an appetizer or party snack, these bite-sized treats are baked until golden and topped with crispy fried onions, parsley, and a hint of paprika for extra flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 1 tube (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
Filling
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup cooked bacon, finely chopped
- ¼ cup green onions, sliced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Toppings (optional)
- 2 tbsp crispy fried onions
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- Pinch of paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the ideal baking temperature while you prepare the ingredients.
- Prepare Muffin Pan: Lightly grease a 24-count mini muffin pan to prevent the crescent rolls from sticking during baking.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and press the seams together to create a single sheet of dough. Cut the dough into 24 small squares, enough to fit in each muffin cup.
- Line Muffin Cups: Gently press each dough square into a mini muffin cup, forming little dough cups that will hold the filling.
- Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, finely chopped cooked bacon, sliced green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and evenly combined.
- Fill Dough Cups: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the prepared filling into each dough-lined mini muffin cup, spreading it evenly.
- Bake: Bake the filled mini muffins in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the filling is heated through.
- Cool and Garnish: Let the bites cool for about 5 minutes after baking. Then, sprinkle the tops with crispy fried onions, chopped parsley, and a pinch of paprika if desired for extra flavor and crunch.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to blend easily with the other ingredients.
- These bites are best served warm but can be reheated briefly in the oven if needed.
- You can customize the filling by adding other ingredients such as diced jalapeños or replacing bacon with cooked sausage for variation.
- If you prefer a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and add extra vegetables or use a vegetarian bacon substitute.
- For easier cleanup, use a non-stick or silicone muffin pan liner.
