Cream Cheese Oreo Protein Balls are a quick, no-bake, protein-packed snack that satisfy sweet cravings with the iconic chocolate-vanilla Oreo flavor combined with creamy cheese and protein powder. Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 8 oz (227g) Cream Cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1520 Oreo Cookies, crushed into fine crumbs (cream filling included)
  • 1 cup (30g) Vanilla Protein Powder (or chocolate)
  • 23 tbsp Milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)
  • Pinch of Salt

Optional Mix-ins and Coating

  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts)
  • Shredded coconut
  • Extra crushed Oreos (for coating)
  • Cocoa powder (for coating)
  • Unsweetened shredded coconut (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Prep & Crush: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or food processor, leaving a few small chunks for texture. Soften the cream cheese by leaving it at room temperature for about 20 minutes or microwaving in 10-second bursts until spreadable.
  2. Mix & Mash: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and crushed Oreos until uniform and dark gray. Gradually add the protein powder, stirring as you go. If the mixture is too dry, add milk one tablespoon at a time until it holds together well. Stir in vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, and any optional mix-ins like mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts.
  3. Shape & Chill: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it between your palms into balls. Place them on a parchment-lined tray. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to firm up or freeze for 30 minutes if short on time. Optionally, roll chilled balls in extra crushed Oreos, cocoa powder, or shredded coconut for a decorative coating.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature ingredients for easy mixing and smooth texture.
  • Adjust mixture consistency by adding more protein powder if too sticky or more milk/cream cheese if too dry.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Substitute cream cheese with strained Greek yogurt or Neufchâtel cheese for a lower-fat option.
  • Use gluten-free Oreos or alternative cookies for dietary preferences.
  • Customize flavors by adding peanut butter, espresso powder, or using different protein powders.
  • Wet hands slightly to prevent sticking when rolling the balls.
