Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set this mixture aside for later use.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a larger bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract as well.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter mixture, alternating with the milk, blending just until combined to avoid overmixing the batter.
  5. Prepare Apple Cinnamon Filling: In another bowl, combine the light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and the peeled, chopped apple pieces. Mix until the apples are well coated with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Layer Batter and Apple Mixture: Spoon half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Add half of the apple mixture over the batter and gently swirl with a knife. Repeat by adding the remaining batter followed by the remaining apple mixture and swirl again carefully to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake the Bread: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45-55 minutes. Test doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the bread; it should come out clean.
  8. Make Cinnamon Glaze: While the bread cools slightly, prepare the glaze by whisking together confectioners’ sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and water in a small bowl until smooth.
  9. Glaze and Serve: Once the bread has cooled for about 10 minutes, drizzle the cinnamon glaze over the top. Allow the glaze to set before slicing and serving.
